Using the Heather Lyle Vocal Yoga Method, this class is specifically for those that currently have voice disorders, have a history of voice disorders secondary to vocal abuse or Parkinson's Disease. They may or may not have already received voice therapy. This class will provide them with a way to consistently use deep breathing techniques to maintain or improve good quality voice.
This class combines HLVYM, LSVT/LOUD techniques with Vinyasa Yoga, deep breathing including pranayama techniques and vocalizations to increase breath support necessary for a strong good quality voice. The combination of yoga and deep breathing (the foundation of a good quality voice) is perfect for anyone who uses their speaking or singing voice on a daily basis (vocal athletes) , holds tension in their neck or has had a previous vocal dysfunction including hoarse voice quality and decreased volume. Participants will benefit by stretching muscles necessary for breathing, learning deep breathing techniques, increased relaxation, improved posture and improved vocal care.
This is the only Vocal Yoga class in the country specifically for those with vocal dysfunction.
